Shades descended on the high decibel lobbying for the Gathering surveys in Karnataka on Monday night, making way for the super polling form fight on May 10.

The major political parties in contention—the BJP, Congress, and JD(S)—and their candidates have made a strong pitch to improve their chances at the hustings because of the high stakes of this election.

The date and time of the Karnataka assembly elections of 2023 will be announced on May 13, at approximately 8 a.m.

2023 Assembly Elections in Karnataka: Details about the voting schedule and date The Election Commission has devised elaborate plans to ensure that voting on Wednesday runs smoothly. On election day, 2,163 candidates' fates will be sealed in ballot boxes.

There are 185 women and 2,427 men among the 2,613 candidates. The others' category includes one candidate. In the state, 5,30,85,566 crore people are registered to vote, with 2,66,82,156 male and 2,63,98,483 female voters. According to officials, 4,927 voters fall into the other category.

Those, who are in fundamental administrations, will make their choice through postal polling form.

The ruling BJP has put forward candidates for each of the 224 Assembly seats.

There are 223 candidates from the opposition Congress party. It has not handled an up-and-comer in the Melukote seat.

The JD(S) party has put forward 207 candidates in an effort to become a kingmaker, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is competing for 209 seats.

BSP is challenging in 133 seats.

The CPI(M) has handled up-and-comers on four seats while the NPP is challenging from two seats.

A sum of 693 up-and-comers are from enrolled parties and 918 are free competitors. Major parties' high-energy campaigns in the state included the BJP, Congress, and JD(S).
